Shooter Series Cotton’s 35th-Anniversary Title Released
SUCCESS Corp. released COTTOn RockWithYou -ORIENTAL NIGHT DREAMS-, the 35th-anniversary entry in the Cotton shooter series, on August 6, 2026. The witch Nata de Cotton travels to Japan in search of the “WILLOW” scattered around the world. In addition to the eight characters returning from the previous game, Cotton Fantasy, two guest characters join the roster — Izuna, a character from the Izuna series, and Ria3, a character inspired by Psyvariar 3 — bringing the total number of playable characters to ten. It is available on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5.

The Forest of Drizzling Rain Adds Its Free 2013 Original Version on Steam

The Steam version of the horror adventure game The Forest of Drizzling Rain has added the original 2013 version as a free bonus. That original version, first released in October 2013 as a free game, had ended its distribution in July 2024. According to AUTOMATON, at developer Makoto Sanada’s wishes, rather than being made available again on its own, it was folded into the remake as a free addition. As of this writing, 97% of its 505 reviews on Steam are positive, giving it an overall status of “Overwhelmingly Positive.”

Roguelike Chocolate Parade, Where Sweets Wage War With Heavy Weapons, Releases Demo on Steam

Solo developer Browser Land has released a demo of the roguelike action game Chocolate Parade on Steam. The game features anthropomorphized sweets doing battle — a waffle firing a machine gun, a Baumkuchen shooting laser beams — and supports up to three players in co-op, with each run lasting about four minutes. The demo includes all four stages. It is published by WorldMap, an indie label run by TRY SYSTEM of Sabae, Fukui Prefecture, and marks the developer’s second game following Tactics Greed.

Blast Off! Summer Showdown Turns Japanese Summer Into 10 Minigames, Now Available

Nagoya-based developer SAT-BOX has released the summer-themed minigame collection Blast Off! Summer Showdown for Nintendo Switch and Steam. It includes ten minigames based on staples of the Japanese summer, such as “Fire! Rocket Fireworks,” “Somen Slide,” and “Float Ring Battlers.” Nintendo is among the partners listed on the official website.
