Game streamer shu3 has announced that The Death Game Report, a deduction adventure in which players identify causes of death in a death game on an island, will launch on Steam on September 1. In addition, four indie titles from Korea, Taiwan, and China also received new updates.

Game streamer shu3 has announced that the mystery adventure game The Death Game Report will launch on Steam on September 1, 2026. Players investigate a death game that took place on a deserted island, identifying the cause of death, murder weapon, and perpetrator for every student involved, and compiling their findings into a report. Famitsu describes the gameplay as a mix of Return of the Obra Dinn and Type Help. The expected playtime is 4 to 5 hours, and the game supports Japanese only. The developer’s previous title was Come out, cat, released in August 2025.

Korean steampunk detective adventure Ciella’s Casebook set for 2027 release

Ciella’s Casebook, a steampunk detective mystery adventure from Korea, is set to release in 2027. It is developed by Korea’s Studio Elysian and set in a steam-powered city one year after the end of a war. Ciella, a female detective with military experience, and Ricky, her assistant, investigate the truth behind the death of Ciella’s father ten years earlier. The game will support six languages, including English, Japanese, and Korean. The Steam store page states that no generative AI was used at any stage of development.

Taiwanese high-difficulty flight action game Rocket Penguin set for release in 2026

Rocket Penguin, a 2D flight action game from Taiwan, is set for release in 2026. It is developed by Taiwan’s RetroFive Games, and players control Peeo, a penguin equipped with a rocket pack. The game features 25 handcrafted stages and more than ten rule sets, including a food-eating contest, a speed race, and sky soccer. It also supports local multiplayer for up to two players. The game won gold at a Taiwanese game and animation award in 2025.

Chinese survival horror Last Breath opens Steam store page

The Steam store page for Last Breath, a 2.5D side-scrolling survival horror game from China, has gone live, published by developer HP⁺ DOG. Set in a world where an infection turns people into monsters, the game has players control a female protagonist searching for her missing younger sister, fighting off feral infected while exploring ruins. It features a system called “Clothing battle damage” in which the character’s outfit becomes damaged as she takes hits. The game will support six languages, including Japanese, English, and Korean, though a release date has not been announced.

Chinese folk horror 青羽沉梦-终霰篇 gets a playable demo on Steam

A demo for 青羽沉梦-终霰篇, a horror visual novel adventure from China, is now available on Steam. It is developed by China’s 青羽Traum. The protagonist wakes up in 夢境大厅, a Western-fantasy-style hall, and then falls into a series of different otherworlds. The first world, which is currently playable, is set in an ancient Chinese village suffering from famine and religious rites, and tells a story of tangled schemes among the villagers. The game supports Simplified Chinese only, with no Japanese or English support.
