Phoenixx Inc. announced on August 20, 2026, that it has released a Steam demo for the visual novel My Yokai Boyfriend: I LOVE RAMEN! and confirmed the full release date as September 24, 2026.

The protagonist is a woman who dreams of opening her own restaurant and becoming a legendary ramen chef. Into her life comes a male zashiki-warashi who claims to be a ramen-making specialist. Zashiki-warashi are yokai from Japanese folklore, and the game introduces them as spirits that bring prosperity to the household they live in, protect its owner, and guide them toward happiness. The protagonist takes this zashiki-warashi on as her mentor and sets out to open her shop while getting to know a colorful cast of yokai.

The demo includes Part 1, the first half of the story that has been available for free until now, along with the opening of Part 2, a continuation newly created for the Steam version. Unlocking Part 2, however, requires correctly answering questions in a quiz about the content of Part 1. Whereas Part 1 centered mainly on reading, the new continuation adds mini-games and exploration segments, and some lines of dialogue are now voiced.

The game is made by solo creator ArabanaNunu (@hanabiranunu), who works across multiple forms — novels, visual novels, and original music. In addition to project planning and scriptwriting, ArabanaNunu also handles illustration and music on some projects. According to Phoenixx’s press release, ArabanaNunu prioritizes making each work enjoyable on its own while connecting all of the works into one larger story. Another visual novel and some short stories share the same setting as this title, and one of them is presented as a story that leads into this game. Two theme songs for the game have also been released on the official YouTube channel.

The game is available only on PC via Steam. The game supports Japanese and Simplified Chinese; no decision has been made about English support. The price has not been announced. The full release is planned for September 24, 2026.
