Independent developer Bhaskara (@Cynoroid) has released a demo on itch.io for SATSUBATSU SUCCUBUS, an ultra-fast FPS in which each stage wraps up in about 10 seconds.
The demo went live on August 10, Japan time, which is also August 10 in North America and Europe. The itch.io description reads, “SATSUBATSU SUCCUBUS is a fast-paced first-person action FPS built around a rapid sequence of short combat encounters.” The game is built around clearing tiny stages one after another, and according to Game*Spark, each stage takes about 10 seconds to finish. There are four difficulty levels — EASY, NORMAL, HARD, and EXHARD — and clear times are tracked separately for each. Players are meant to replay the same stage again and again to shave time off their record.

Bhaskara has been releasing games on Steam as an independent developer since 2019, debuting there with the 2D platformer series CYNOROID. Their best-known works are the cult-hunting FPS titles CULT VS GAL, released on May 3, 2024, and GAL VS VILLAGE. Bhaskara continues to post in Japanese on platforms such as note, Ci-en, and BOOTH. A 2024 AUTOMATON interview referred to them as an independent developer and quoted them describing their approach to making games: “A game is finished once you finish making it” (translated from Japanese).
The demo includes two playable areas, and the itch.io description confirms this: “This demo includes two playable areas.” It uses itch.io’s “Name your own price” system, so players can download it without entering an amount. It’s available on PC.
The same day the demo launched, August 10, also saw the Steam release of “JFPS Bundle Series 1,” a bundle collecting seven Japanese-made FPS titles. The bundle includes Bhaskara’s CULT VS GAL and GAL VS VILLAGE, alongside titles such as The Citadel, Beyond Citadel, HOLE, Shooters, Ready!, and The Last Salvage Squad.
