On August 6, 2026, City Connection announced three titles coming to its retro game revival label, JALECOlle Famicom Ver. One of them is SHATTERHAND, a side-scrolling action game originally released in 1991 for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

SHATTERHAND is the No. 2 entry in the label’s special edition line. The story follows a police officer who lost both hands and fights a cyborg army bent on world domination by equipping cybernetic hands. Release is planned for September 2026.

The No. 9 entry is 『エスパ冒険隊 魔王の砦』, an exploration-based action RPG released in 1987. The protagonist is a boy named Akio, who heads to the demon king’s castle after being summoned by a mysterious, unidentified voice. Four companions are inside the castle, and Akio sets out to find them. The player switches among five espers from scene to scene, closing in on the secrets hidden within the castle. Release is planned sometime in 2026.

The No. 10 entry is 『ふしぎなブロビー ブロバニアの危機』, an action-adventure game released in 1990. The protagonist is an adventurous boy. His companion is Blobert, an alien who came down to Earth in search of companions. The boy sets out on a journey, bringing Blobert along. Blobert changes form when he eats candy. Which form he takes depends on the flavor, and 14 types are available, including a ladder, a trampoline, a hole, and a bridge. Release is planned for 2027.

JALECOlle Famicom Ver. is a label that revives Famicom (Family Computer) titles from the former Jaleco, whose rights City Connection now holds. Its lineup so far spans the No. 1 entry, Pinball Quest, through the No. 8 entry, Rod Land, in the regular numbering, along with the No. 1 special edition entry, The Last Ninja. This announcement coincides with the label’s 2nd anniversary, and the company’s official YouTube channel has published a special medley celebrating the occasion.

The label has also built in features that let overseas users play these Japanese-language Famicom titles. In an August 2024 interview with Famitsu, the label’s director explained that hovering the cursor over an item now displays a caption showing how its name is read and what effect it has. This caption feature also supports English.
