D3PUBLISHER announced on August 25, 2026, that it will exhibit at TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026. The booth is located in Hall 5, No. 05-C03.

Three titles from the EARTH DEFENSE FORCE series will be featured in the hands-on corner. The centerpiece is the new title, EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6.2 INVADERS FROM ANOTHER WORLD, which is coming to PlayStation 5 and is scheduled for release in 2027.

The company states that the sheer number of enemies in the new title will be more than double that of EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6 — the highest in the series. Ants, bees, and spiders will all appear in greater numbers, and enemies from the previous title will also return in twice their previous numbers. Formidable enemies that previously appeared only in EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6’s downloadable content will now also appear in the main game, with their numbers doubled as well.

Weapon customization is a new system for this installment. When defeated, enemies drop item boxes containing weapon enhancement devices, which players use to modify the weapons they carry. Examples the company gives include fitting an assault rifle with incendiary rounds, or loading a rocket launcher with freezing rounds. The idea is to change a weapon’s properties to suit your playstyle.

More than half of the existing missions are being rebuilt, and entirely new ones are being added. The total number of missions is said to exceed that of the previous title. One new mission previewed involves a giant mushroom engulfing a city, though further details are set to be announced later.

Offline play supports one or two players in split-screen mode, while online play supports one to four players in cooperative mode. At the hands-on demo, visitors will be able to take on this many enemies and try out part of the weapon customization system.

The remaining two titles are both ports for Nintendo Switch 2. EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 5 for Nintendo Switch 2 launches on October 8, and EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6 for Nintendo Switch 2 is planned for this winter. Visitors will be able to go hands-on with both titles ahead of their releases.

A stage will also be set up inside the booth. The company says it plans to reveal new details about the new title there, and a livestream on YouTube and Niconico is also planned. Giveaways are also planned, though supplies will be limited.
