1997 Fighting Game TOUKI DENSHOU ANGEL EYES Launches on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2
HAMSTER Corporation released TOUKI DENSHOU ANGEL EYES, a fighting game Tecmo put out in 1997, as part of its Console Archives lineup on August 13, 2026, Japan time. It’s available on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, based on the original home-console version. The game is known for visuals that mix 2D and 3D CG characters, along with a distinctive fighting system that includes jumps of up to four stages. The arcade version never released outside Japan, but this revival supports menus and manuals in five languages: English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. The original developer, Tecmo, is now Koei Tecmo Games.

Merge Puzzle KESU-JI, With Six Modes in One Package, Launches on Steam August 28
peakvox will release KESU-JI, a puzzle game built around merging, on Steam on August 28, 2026, Japan time. A Nintendo Switch version is planned for fall 2026. It includes six modes, themed around gravity, blocks, height, bouncing, climbing, and bullet patterns. peakvox is an original label from Osaka-based O-TWO inc. and Fun Unit inc.. The introduction video peakvox has published is the Japanese-language version.

Solo Circle’s 3D Shooter Hollow Shooter Launches for Smartphones
Hollow Shooter, a 3D shooter developed by a solo Japanese circle, was released for smartphones on August 10, 2026, Japan time. Players control a bow-wielding protagonist and fight in both first-person and third-person perspectives. The game also supports gyro-sensor controls. It is free to play, with in-app purchases available. The developer name listed on the App Store is EISHI KATO, and the app supports an English display option as well. This trailer was released to coincide with an event appearance in June 2025.

Fate/Grand Order Kicks Off Swimsuit Event Featuring 7 New Servants
A swimsuit event called “Chaldea South Seas Great Battle!” (the event’s official English title has not been announced) began in the Japanese version of Fate/Grand Order at 20:00 Japan time on August 12, 2026 (7:00 a.m. Eastern Time the same day). Seven new Servants are joining: four 5-star and three 4-star. The 5-star lineup includes Kingprotea Alter and Swimsuit Kingprotea, and the 4-star lineup includes Swimsuit Habetrot (official English names have not been announced for these three Servants). The event runs through 12:59 p.m. Japan time on September 2 (11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on September 1).

2D Command RPG Unmei no Tou e (To the Tower of Destiny) Launches on Android
Unmei no Tou e, a 2D command RPG developed by Tokyo-based CozyTrail Games, was released for Android on August 10, 2026, Japan time. It was published jointly with Poppin Games Japan. Players form a party of spellcasters who control fire, wind, ice, and earth, climbing a five-floor tower to defeat the demon god at the top. The game has roguelike elements and is offered as a one-time purchase.
