SEGA and ATLUS announced character information and a story trailer for Persona 4 Revival on August 27. The characters revealed were Kanji Tatsumi, Teddie, and Naoto Shirogane. The characters are voiced by Tomokazu Seki, Kappei Yamaguchi, and Romi Park, respectively. The reveal coincided with the launch of the TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026 special website. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game launches on February 18, 2027.

DoDonPachi Resurrection Reignite Launches Worldwide on Steam With 10-Player “Shooting Royale” Mode

CAVE released the bullet hell shooter DoDonPachi Resurrection Reignite simultaneously worldwide on Steam at 10:00 AM Japan Time on August 27 (9:00 PM Eastern Time in North America on August 26). It features a battle mode for up to 10 players called “Shooting Royale,” which incorporates the use of items, ways to interfere with opponents, and real-time changes in rank. CAVE states this is the first shooting game to offer multiplayer for up to 10 players. The game’s music is by Ryu☆, known for his work on the BEMANI series.

On August 27, SEGA announced a new map, “Germany,” for Crazy Taxi: World Tour. The game is scheduled for release in 2027. ILLUMINATION released Stripjong - Super Real Mahjong Venus Returns on Steam on August 27. It is the first entry in the roughly 40-year-old Super Real Mahjong series to officially support English. A crowdfunding campaign in fall 2025 drew 1,129 backers and reached a funding rate of 1,690%. The release had previously been delayed once in response to demand that exceeded expectations.

Atelier Resleriana to End Service November 25, Closing After About Three Years

Koei Tecmo Games announced on August 27 that it will end service for Atelier Resleriana, described as a “Cinematic Alchemy RPG,” at 4:00 PM Japan Time on November 25, 2026 (2:00 AM Eastern Time in North America, also November 25). The mobile version launched on September 23, 2023, and the Steam version in January 2024, bringing service to a close after roughly three years. The development team said it had determined that continuing to provide a service that would satisfy users would be difficult. Sales of paid items also ended at 4:00 PM on August 27.
