SNK (SNK CORPORATION) announced on September 13 that it will release Kim Kaphwan as the third DLC character in Season Pass 3: Destined for Revenge for the fighting game FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves. Kim has appeared in the series since 1992. June Yoon voices the character in the English version, and Kunihiro Kawamoto voices the character in the Japanese version. Season Pass 3 is planned to include seven DLC characters in total. Attendees can also try the game early at the CFD Sales INC. / Crowxis booth at TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026.

Fate/EXTRA Record Reveals Archer, a Warrior Specializing in Indirect and Thrown-Weapon Attacks

Aniplex Inc. released the second character trailer for Fate/EXTRA Record on September 12, introducing Archer (voiced by Junichi Suwabe), one of the Servant candidates. The dungeon-crawling RPG launches January 28, 2027. In the story, Archer is described as a warrior skilled with a wide range of weapons, specializing in indirect and thrown-weapon attacks. Players form a contract with their chosen Servant and build a deck combining commands, items, and support actions, then fight using command cards. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam), with subtitles in nine languages, including English.

Otomate’s 20th-Anniversary Title Brings the Nintendo Switch Hakuoki Series Together

IDEA FACTORY Co., Ltd. announced a 20th-anniversary title for its female-oriented game brand Otomate during the brand’s stage event on September 13. It is a romance adventure set during the Bakumatsu era, featuring the Shinsengumi, and it brings together the Hakuoki titles released for Nintendo Switch. IDEA FACTORY positions it as the culmination of the series. It is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, with returning cast members Shin-ichiro Miki, Showtaro Morikubo, and Kohsuke Toriumi. At the same event, the company also announced a fan disc for Winter’s Wish: Spirits of Edo and a brand-new romance adventure set in postwar Japan. Both of those titles are also coming to Nintendo Switch, and release dates for all three titles will be announced later.

Aooni VR Attraction Comes to Tokyo Dome City, Opening October 23 as Japan’s Fifth Location

Dynamo amusement, Inc. announced on September 13 that it will operate a VR attraction based on the horror game Aooni at Tokyo Dome City Attractions for a limited time starting October 23, 2026. The event takes place in Japan. Participants wear VR goggles and walk through the venue, collecting designated drinks while fleeing from Aooni, who appears without warning. The number of drinks collected changes the ending. Sessions last 10 minutes, and 1 to 20 people can play together (group size varies by venue). The attraction, which began this summer at Tokyo Tower, is currently running at Canal City Hakata in Fukuoka and Tobu Zoo in Saitama, and will also open at Shin-Shizuoka Cenova in Shizuoka on September 18. Tokyo Dome City will be the attraction’s fifth location.
