The creator of Schrödinger’s Call says the game was at risk of being canceled partway through its four years of development.

Schrödinger’s Call creator on four years of development and the next game

Schrödinger’s Call is an adventure game themed around the telephone. Achabox of Acrobatic Chirimenjako appeared onstage for a talk with Shuhei Yoshida and others at OSAKA INDIE GAMES SUMMIT 2026. Achabox studied illustration, worked in video production, then got into the games industry through volunteering at BitSummit and doing debugging work. Development ran four years, and two and a half years in, the project was in danger of being canceled. For the next game, Achabox has two directions in mind: a genuinely terrifying horror game, or a pop-styled game built on showmanship. The goal is to finish in two to three years. SHUEISHA GAMES publishes the game, which is out on Steam and Nintendo Switch with English support.

Elin’s dev build adds a notebook that kills whoever wrote it when you read it

Elin, the roguelike sequel to Elona, has a new item in its development build (EA 23.351 Nightly): a notebook recording a past the writer would rather nobody knew about. Reading it gives points used to strengthen a character, and the person who wrote the notebook dies on the spot. Deciphering it requires a well-developed character, and the payout in points is small. The notebook comes from a shop that unlocks as the story progresses. Elin is in Early Access, and the notebook is due to be added to the stable branch soon.
