Laica, a horror about living with a girl in a space habitat, comes to Steam in 2027
Santa Studio has announced Laica, a 3D survival horror. You wake up in HOME, a habitat drifting in space, where you eat and listen to music with Laica, a girl who has lived there alone, and float through zero gravity. Outside, you explore warped, dark sections and either fight the monsters or avoid them. The deeper you go, the more the anomalies spread to HOME and Laica, and a choice lies ahead. Laica comes to Steam in 2027 and supports English.

Four Animal Crossing furniture items sought for about 25 years are now obtainable
An arbitrary code execution bug, which lets players make the game run any code they want, has turned up in Animal Crossing, the 2002 Nintendo GameCube game. All it takes is an unmodified console and a controller. With it, players can get the four furniture items players have chased for about 25 years, known as the “Forbidden Four.” Placed in the house, they let you play Mario Bros., Ice Climber, Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda. e-Reader cards were released for only two of them, Mario Bros. and Ice Climber, and the other two could not be obtained through normal play. Hunter R. (@xHunter_R) confirmed that the method works on an unmodified console, put the steps together and posted them on X on October 7.

Empathize with enemies to weaken them: PATRICIDE gets a Steam demo
A demo of PATRICIDE, a 3D adventure RPG developed solo by Miyoshi Shizuka, is out on Steam. It follows girls who killed their father, with protagonist Tsubaki doing the fighting. Combat mixes action with turn-based play. In the Emotion System, empathizing with an enemy weakens it, and if that goes well, you can charm it into fighting its own allies. The demo runs about an hour and covers Tsubaki’s story from the summer festival to the hospital. The full game comes out in December 2026 and supports English.

It includes 10 quests from the mobile game Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE, along with its songs.

Minesweeper-style Dungeon Sweeper Plus gets a Steam demo
PLAYISM released a demo of Dungeon Sweeper Plus on Steam on October 8. Setamo developed the game. You click hexagonal tiles to open the area around them and expand the world. Dungeon tiles act as the mines, and stepping on three of them ends the run. Grave tiles are your hint: the number of graves around a tile tells you how many dungeon tiles are next to it. Use that to chase a high score. The demo lets you play up to a score of 10,000. The full game comes out on Steam in 2026 and supports English.
