The Steam demo for the naval strategy game Forturia: Trade Route Pioneers launched at 12:00 p.m. Japan time on August 14, 2026 (8:00 p.m. Pacific Time on August 13 in North America). It was developed and published by FUJIYAMA ENTERTAINMENT, a company based in Sotokanda, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo.
The project’s planner and director is Shunsuke Katsumata. In an article published on August 14, 2026, Famitsu listed several of Katsumata’s major development credits, including Valkyrie Profile -Toga o Seou Mono-, REAL STEEL, WWF No Mercy, the WWE Day of Reckoning series, and the WrestleMania series. In English-speaking regions, Valkyrie Profile -Toga o Seou Mono- is known as Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume. WWF No Mercy is a professional wrestling game for the Nintendo 64.
The game is set in a fantasy world inspired by the 16th-century Age of Exploration. Players take on the role of a young captain leading a small trading company, rolling dice to sail the world’s seas. At ports around the world, they buy and sell trade goods to build their fortune and take on “royal missions” assigned by the kingdom. The map changes with every playthrough, and the prices of trade goods are constantly shifting. Rival captains sail the same seas, creating competition for both trade routes and business.
According to the Steam store page, the development team is a small group of four to five people, including Katsumata. The game is available on PC and Mac, but currently only as a demo. The full release is listed as coming soon, but no specific release date has been announced yet. The interface, voice-over audio, and subtitles are all available in five languages: English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean. The demo is free and can be downloaded directly from the Steam store page.
