Travis Touchdown of No More Heroes will be back. Goichi Suda of Grasshopper Manufacture, the series’ developer, said outright in an interview published November 2. The series turns 20 in 2027, and Suda said he wants to team up with Marvelous Inc. on something to mark the milestone.

The studio split from NetEase Games and went independent in October. One project Suda brought up is Moonlight Syndrome, which came out on the original PlayStation in 1997. As a first step, he said, he’d like to bring it out outside Japan. A dark new game in the same vein is also in the planning stages, and Suda plans to write the scenario.

There is movement on The Silver Case (1999) too. A remaster widened its fanbase, and an indie publisher has approached the studio about working together. Suda said the game might come back.

Suda said he had been telling people for several years that he wanted to go independent once Romeo Is A Dead Man was finished. The game launched in February 2026 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and it is the studio’s first self-published game, an action-adventure. As of late October, 87% of its Steam reviews were positive, for a “Very Positive” rating. Even so, Suda said industry contacts told him they hadn’t known it was out, and he feels the game hasn’t reached everyone it could.

Suda said the aim of independence is to be able to launch “interesting things,” big and small, on its own. He takes the budget into account from the planning stage, and he sees ballooning budgets in 3D-focused development as a problem. He called the mix of manga and pixel art in Romeo Is A Dead Man one example of that thinking.

The studio is also keeping its older games playable. The Silver Case 2425 is available on Nintendo’s store. Suda said he wants to get KILLER IS DEAD, which is playable on Steam, to be playable on current consoles as well.

If Moonlight Syndrome does come out outside Japan, players could try the game this new project grows from before the new one arrives.

Suda said the studio’s new game is due in 2027, and what it is hasn’t been revealed. Suda has been saying for more than 20 years that he wants to make a Gundam game. He said it’s about time, and half-jokingly put the odds at around 50 percent.
