On a 5×6 board, you move toy soldiers, guard your own king, and take down the opponent’s king. You work your way along a map collecting soldiers, build a deck from them, and face a stream of enemies. HITORIASOBI is a single-player game that pairs a deck-building roguelike with a 3D board game. It is planned for Steam (PC) in 2026. Steam’s language list includes English.

Moving a soldier costs marbles. Stronger soldiers cost more, so how you build the deck matters. The board also holds stationary toy obstacles, and knocking one down triggers a useful effect.

You choose which route to take across the map, and the map is also where soldiers get upgraded. There are items that help in battle, too. More than 100 different toys are planned as soldiers at launch.

A board-game-style map

The story starts when the protagonist, Rina-chi, is invited by a friend, Poco, to play a strange game. A second teaser trailer released in October introduced a new character who plays a big part in the story. Parts of the plot are still blanked out in the official materials.

The soldiers in your deck are the pieces you place on the board, so a soldier picked up on the map will likely end up in the next board’s lineup. You will probably face the same choice on every board: take out an obstacle for its effect or go straight for the king.

HITORIASOBI is developed and published by Plameta Keeper, a studio that says it makes books, stage productions, and video as well as games. Its official social accounts and first promotional video appeared in January 2026, and the Steam store page went up in April. The official site introduces the studio as an agency established on orders from a space government.

The site lists 10 people with job titles. The script is written by Aikuma Bearu, an executive producer who has been active as a VTuber since March 2023. Others include an executive technical artist who released Time to GOLF on Steam in 2021, an engineer who works on the NPC AI, a composer who works on the background music, and a promoter who is also a cosplayer.
