Lazy Witch’s Factory, a factory automation game made by a one-employee Japanese company, will enter early access on Steam on August 21, 2026.

The protagonist is Momoko, a lazy witch who dreamed of living without working. Tricked by a devil, she ended up saddled with a debt so large it seems impossible to repay. The player’s goal is to pay off this debt within 30 minutes. The game is a run-based roguelite factory builder.

It isn’t Momoko herself who runs the factory, but her familiars. Goblins handle the mining, while Salamanders handle the smithing. Resources are mined, carried by conveyor belts, and delivered to a portal, which converts them into funds.

Another core mechanic is making pacts with devils. A pact grants powerful skills and buffs, but the terms are unsavory: options include forcing familiars into hard labor, counterfeiting money, and tampering with production recipes.

After early access begins, high-difficulty content is planned, including missions built around dealing with disasters and a mode in which the manager Gehenna imposes taxes on the factory. This content was greenlit after a May 2026 crowdfunding campaign raised 269% of its initial funding goal.

Development is handled by MELTCLOCK Inc., a company based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, founded on October 1, 2024. It has just one employee, and the company’s representative also serves as game director. The game is published by Phoenixx Inc.

A demo is currently available for free on Steam. First released on June 11, the demo was rereleased in enhanced form by MELTCLOCK on August 4, 2026. The demo will be removed once early access begins.

The only supported platform is PC (Steam). The interface and subtitles are available in six languages, including English, but full audio is available only in Japanese.
