Solo developer lvl374 has announced a new visual novel, She Doesn’t Know, and published its Steam store page. The announcement was reported on August 24, Japan time.

The story is set in Japan in 1999 and depicts a single day in the lives of Haruka and Shiho, two high school girls who are childhood friends and now girlfriends. Their conversations range from what to do after graduation and changes in their bodies to Shiho’s family troubles, sexual feelings, dreams, and death. The Steam store page states that the game includes depictions of mild bullying, violence, and suicide. lvl374 is known for 1-bit pixel art, and this game is made in that same style.

This is lvl374’s third release on Steam. The first was NIDANA, a first-person dream simulator released on July 28, 2025, and the second was halfmoon, a short adventure game released in May 2026 that was set at a guidance office in the afterlife. Both games have earned a “Very Positive” user rating on Steam. lvl374 is responsible for both development and publishing.

The timing of the demo was revealed on lvl374’s official X account. According to lvl374, the translation and other elements are still being adjusted, and a demo is planned for release to coincide with Steam Next Fest in October 2026.

The game is for PC and requires Windows 10 or later. The release date is still listed as “Coming soon” and has not yet been finalized. The store page lists English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese, with interface, audio, and subtitle support said to be available for all four languages. However, a note at the top of the page states that the translation is still being adjusted and that the text is currently machine-translated. Because the game is distributed through Steam, there are no regional restrictions on purchasing it.
