Solo developer 紡木イト (X: @Alf_Arstenia) gave an interview looking back on the development of the free simulation RPG Chronicle of Arstenia500. The game took about two to three years to make while 紡木イト held down a job, and it was released for free on Steam in July 2026. It contains more than 250,000 text characters and features more than 30 characters who join the party. Of 45 Steam user reviews, 86% are positive. Asked about the decision to make the game free, 紡木イト said (translated from Japanese): “The direct reason was that, under my employer’s regulations, it was difficult to monetize a personal project.” The game supports Japanese only and has no English localization.
