Persona 5 Royal and Initial D THE ARCADE Team Up, Three In-Game Tracks Become Race BGM
SEGA and ATLUS have announced a collaboration between Persona 5 Royal and the arcade racing game Initial D THE ARCADE for Japanese arcades. The event runs from October 8 to January 20, 2027. Persona 5 tracks “Life Will Change,” “Last Surprise,” and “Rivers in the Desert” play as race BGM, and players can earn car stickers and meters themed after Joker, Panther, and Queen.

Mega Man: Dual Override’s New Boss “Jet Man” Revealed, Mega Man 8 Weapon Included
Capcom revealed the new boss “Jet Man” for Mega Man: Dual Override, slated for spring 2027, during an online stage stream for TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026. Jet Man leads an acrobatic flight squadron, switching between flight and robot forms to attack with missiles and a fighter jet. Defeating him grants a special weapon that lets Mega Man dash forward at high speed. Mega Man 8’s weapon “Astro Crush” is also included, becoming available after defeating the stage 2 mid-boss, according to series producer Shingo Izumi.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance’s Venue-Only Special Footage Released Online
Capcom released online the special Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance footage that had originally been planned to be shown only on the large screen at its TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026 booth, after the event’s final day was canceled. The footage shows monster behavior, a Felyne dance, and multiple monsters lined up for a size comparison. The large expansion is coming to PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027.

TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026 Closes After Four Days with 257,642 Total Visitors, Next Show Opens September 16, 2027
CESA (the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association) announced that TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026 drew a total of 257,642 visitors over four days, from September 17 to 20, after on-site events on the final day of its originally planned five-day run were canceled due to the approach of Typhoon No. 25. A total of 1,138 exhibitors came from 53 countries and regions. The next show will run for five days, from September 16 to 20, 2027, at Makuhari Messe.

PUBG MOBILE Collaborates with One-Punch Man, Adding Saitama and Genos
PUBG MOBILE, the mobile battle royale from South Korea’s KRAFTON, has started a collaboration with the anime One-Punch Man. The event runs from September 20 to October 20. More than 20 items were added, including character sets themed after Saitama, Genos, Terrible Tornado, Hellish Blizzard, Watchdog Man, and Garou, a collab skin for the Kar98K, a companion item themed after Mumen Rider, and emotes that recreate actions from the series.
