On September 21, ATLUS streamed a presentation detailing the collaboration between the smartphone and PC game Persona5: The Phantom X and Persona 3 Portable. The collaboration begins September 24. Joining as a crossover character is P3P’s female protagonist, Kotone Shiomi. The Persona series marks 30 years since 1996’s Revelations: Persona.

SNK’s METAL SLUG ULTIMATE COLLECTION Packs All 10 Titles, Adds Rewind Function and Two-Player Online Co-op
SNK revealed new details about METAL SLUG ULTIMATE COLLECTION, a compilation of all 10 titles in the series, set for release in 2027. The collection spans METAL SLUG through METAL SLUG 7 (including METAL SLUG X), the handheld title METAL SLUG ADVANCE, and the Location Test Version, which never reached the market. It supports a Rewind function that turns back time by a few seconds, Quick Save, difficulty adjustments such as unlimited ammo, and two-player Online Co-op. M2 is handling the port. The collection is the first release in the series’ 30th anniversary project, and SNK also revealed that a new entry in the series is in development. The collection is coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Director Says He Added an Unlimited Fast-Travel Item Knowing It Would Draw Criticism
Capcom will release Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, which adds new story and gameplay content to Dragon’s Dogma 2, on October 9. The earlier free update “Title Update 3.2” added a fast-travel item that isn’t consumed when used. Director Kento Kinoshita said he implemented it knowing it would draw criticism for making travel too easy, and that he chose to give players more options. The DLC adds 12 dungeons called “Lost Rites” and a new area, “Norgan.” It will be available as expansion DLC on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and as a single package combining the base game and new content on Nintendo Switch 2.

China’s Alice Nation Launches on Steam October 16, Sends Players Through a World Built from Cards
Alice Nation, a card game from China, launches on Steam on October 16. It’s developed by Hanamiriro and published by 2P Games. Players control Alice, a girl trapped in “The Beyond,” a world built from cards, exploring and solving puzzles to find a way back to reality. When facing the same enemy, players can choose to stay calm and observe, talk things out, or throw an elbow, and the outcome changes depending on the approach they pick. The game supports English text and has a demo available.
