China’s Phantom Blade Zero Launches October 29
Phantom Blade Zero is a wuxia action game from China that bills itself as “kungfupunk.” It comes to PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5 with English voice-over. In the story, the hero, Soul, has only 66 days to live. Alongside guarding and dodging, you can parry attacks with well-timed blocks, then finish enemies off with an on-screen prompt. Enemies you meet along the way stay dead once defeated. On a second or later playthrough, the higher-difficulty mode takes one day off Soul’s remaining time with every death.

From the Creator of Half-Minute Hero, DUNGEON RAZE Smashes Through Walls
In DUNGEON RAZE, you play a mage whose spells fire automatically at set intervals, smashing through dungeon walls and monsters as you go. Famitsu featured it in an indie game feature. It came out on Steam in January 2025. The more walls you break, the more ground you can explore, and you can take the stairs at the far end to the next floor. When the time limit runs out, a powerful enemy appears. The creator is Kotaro Yoshida, who made Half-Minute Hero. It is also available on iOS.
