Spin the roulette to move, beat monsters, and now and then take gold and items from the other players. Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 is a new multiplayer board game for up to 4 players, and its official English-language page calls it a “friendship-destroying board game.” It is due on Nintendo Switch and Steam in summer 2027. No specific date has been announced.

The game board

You move as many spaces as you roll, and the space you land on decides what happens next. On an empty space, you fight a monster. Win and you earn experience, and every level-up lets you choose which stat to raise.

Gold comes from beating monsters or from saving a village and collecting its tribute. But the gold you’ve saved up is not safe: if another player attacks you, they can take your gold and items. You can go on the attack and take from them yourself, and you can rob shops too.

Save villages and collect tribute while you go after the other players whenever one of them leaves an opening.

A versus match

Local play supports 1 to 4 players, and online play 2 to 4. The Steam version also supports versus play on a shared screen. You can build and register your own character by picking a hairstyle, eyes, and a mouth. The announcement teases scheming across borders and a new round of “friendship destruction.”

On a board built around taking from each other, everyone sometimes teams up. In a co-op battle, all players take on a Giga Monster attacking Dokapon Castle. Once it’s down, you choose whether to share the reward or keep it for yourself.

With one player able to walk off with the whole co-op reward, the next round of scheming looks set to start the moment the team-up ends.

Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 is an all-new entry in the series; the previous game was Dokapon Kingdom: Connect. Idea Factory, Compile Heart, and Sting are developing it.
