On July 9, 2026, GAME FREAK announced that it will set up a booth at TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026. This marks the first time the company has had its own booth at the event.

The announcement was made in the news section of the company’s official website. It also states clearly that no titles related to the Pokémon series will be shown. GAME FREAK has developed the Pokémon series since the first game in 1996, and is best known for its work on the series. The company will not showcase its signature series at its first-ever booth.

GAME FREAK

The centerpiece is expected to be Beast of Reincarnation, a brand-new title released on August 4, 2026. It was developed by GAME FREAK and published by Fictions, Inc. Happinet handles its release in Japan and the rest of Asia.

The protagonist, Emma, is afflicted by the blight. Without her past memories or emotions, she sets out on a journey on the king’s orders. Her companion is Koo, a white beast that uses powerful techniques in battle and enjoys being petted outside of combat. GAME FREAK describes the pairing as “an action RPG starring one person and one beast,” explaining that combat combines real-time action with command-based RPG mechanics.

The game is available on PlayStation 5 and supports PS5 Pro enhancements. Text is available in 11 languages, including Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish; voice acting is available in Japanese and English.

The game will also be playable at Tokyo Game Show. However, it won’t be at GAME FREAK’s own booth — it will be at the main booth of its Japanese distributor, Happinet. On August 27, Happinet announced that visitors would be able to try out more than 13 titles, and listed this game among them.

GAME FREAK has not yet revealed what it will show at its own booth. The company says further details will be announced later.
