KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] gathers the series from the first KINGDOM HEARTS through KINGDOM HEARTS III in one package, and it launches October 8 on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It’s single-player. You play as Sora, fighting with a Keyblade as you travel from world to world.

Three days before launch, SQUARE ENIX posted a special video for the series’ 25th anniversary to its official YouTube channel. It traces the worlds that Sora, Donald Duck and Goofy have traveled through, the Disney characters they met there, and the words the three shared along the way. When Hikaru Utada’s “Hikari” comes in during the second half, the video shifts into scenes from the games.

The series turns 25 in March 2027, and the official site already has a 25th anniversary page. Total series sales have passed 39 million copies worldwide (as of March 31, 2026). Arriving ahead of that milestone, the collection bundles three releases: KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-, KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind, which includes the Re Mind DLC.

SQUARE ENIX’s Japanese site also has short intro videos for individual worlds featured along the journey, including Wonderland, Timeless River and Prankster’s Paradise.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version is built natively for the system, and buyers get the Long Night Keyblade, which the versions on other platforms don’t include.

Where do you start the journey with Sora and friends? With I through III on one system, it looks like you can retrace the journey the video looks back on, in order from the very first game, and experience it for yourself.
