LUNADUN: LUNATIC DUNGEON is a visual novel set in a dungeon, where the player’s choices change the fates of its four characters.

A visual novel is a type of game in which the story unfolds through text and still illustrations, with the player choosing among options at key moments. The four characters in this game are Galuo, Albie, Megalis, and Mamakona. The player advances through the dungeon with these four, making choices at every turn. The Steam store page describes the game this way: “Your choices determine the fate of every character.”

The core of the game lies in how affection works: gaining favor with one character always means losing favor with another. As the developer states on the store page, “There is no path where everyone gets to be happy.” In other words, no ending exists in which all four characters end up liking the player. The player must keep choosing whom to help and whom to abandon.

The game is being developed by Team BONA. itch.io is a site used by individuals and small teams to publish their own work. In a demo announcement posted there, Team BONA introduces itself as a two-person indie game development team based in Japan. Its members are BOWSOW (@BOWSOW_DEV) and naga.

The game is available for PC on Steam and is currently in Early Access, a release model in which a work-in-progress version is sold ahead of the full release. What’s playable now covers only the story’s first day. The full release is planned for the first half of 2027, when the “true ending” tied to Mamakona’s route will be added. A free demo is also available, supporting Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese.

According to the Steam store page, the full release will support four languages — English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese — for its interface, audio, and subtitles. Steam’s AI disclosure section also states that AI is used for translation into multiple languages and for some assets.
