Tales of Eternia Remastered Tops Japan's Weekly Sales Chart

Tales of Eternia Remastered topped Japan’s weekly sales chart. The Nintendo Switch 2 version sold 17,911 copies at No. 1, the Nintendo Switch version followed at No. 3 with 14,003, and the PlayStation 5 version at No. 5 with 10,390. All three versions made the top 10, and together they total 42,304 copies.

The figures are Famitsu’s own estimates for Japan, covering October 12 to 18, 2026, and include physical copies, download cards and preinstalled versions. Famitsu is a Japanese game magazine.

The game is a single-player RPG about a journey to stop two worlds that face each other across the sky from colliding. Battles play out in real time in 2D, with Artes chained together. The original came out in English in 2001 as TALES OF DESTINY II. This was the first tracked week in Japan for all three versions.

The Nintendo Switch version of Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Midnight Edition took No. 2 with 15,630 copies. The PlayStation 5 version also placed at No. 6 with 7,621 copies, bringing the two versions’ combined total to 23,251 copies. The Switch version sold roughly twice as many as the PlayStation 5 version.

Two titles in the top 10 have sold more than one million copies in Japan. Rhythm Heaven Groove (Nintendo Switch) ranked No. 4 with 13,084 copies sold, down from No. 2 last week, bringing its total to 1,093,427 copies. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (Nintendo Switch) sold 5,212 copies at No. 10 and has reached 1,633,297.

Nos. 7 to 9 are ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE (PlayStation 5), KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] (Nintendo Switch 2) and Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave (Nintendo Switch 2). Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave stands at 177,755 copies in Japan.

On the hardware side, Nintendo Switch 2 led with 21,854 units, bringing its total in Japan to 6,430,827. PlayStation 5 Digital Edition came next at 10,392 units.
