Square Enix’s Hamaguchi said FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION will probably be around 200GB. The first entry, FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE, was about 100GB. The PlayStation 5 disc version ships on a single disc and requires an additional data download. FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION launches April 8, 2027, for PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Terranigma, the 1995 Action RPG, Makes Its North American Debut on January 14, 2027

Terranigma, the action RPG developed by QUINTET and released by Enix for the Super Famicom in 1995, is getting a new port on January 14, 2027. The game was released in Europe under the title Terranigma, but it never came to North America. The publisher is Sweden’s Clear River Games. The port keeps the original graphics and adds Arranged Mode—which boosts magic damage and includes a minimap and a save-anywhere feature—as well as Rewind and Museum. Kamui Fujiwara, who designed the characters for the original release, and members of the original QUINTET team are also involved in development. It’s coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back Pushes the Series’ Horror and Pop Further

JP UNIVERSE Inc., led by FINAL FANTASY XV director Hajime Tabata, is developing Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back, and the studio said it’s pushing the series’ world, with its blend of horror, pop, cuteness, and style, even further. The goal is to make protagonist Juliet Starling’s moves feel satisfying, even with simple button presses. Masahiro Yuki, who wrote the original scenario, is joining the project, along with character designer NekoshowguN. Dragami Games and NADA HOLDINGS CORP. are publishing the game, which is planned for release on PlayStation 5 in 2027.

RyzaChat:AI Considering a Multiplayer Mode for Up to 4 Players

SpiralAI, which licenses the Atelier Ryza IP from Koei Tecmo Games, revealed it’s considering a multiplayer mode for up to 4 players in the AI chat RPG RyzaChat:AI. It’s a free-form RPG set in the world of Atelier Ryza, where players travel, synthesize items, and fight battles. RyzaChat:AI has been available as a free-to-play game on iOS and Android since August 25, 2026, with support for English and Brazilian Portuguese.

Hex-Grid Japanese-Style Roguelike RPG Kaguraden Gets a Steam Store Page

Jet Studio Inc. has published a Steam store page for the Japanese-style Roguelike RPG Kaguraden. It’s the first game from the studio, a 3D CG production company. The dungeon uses hexagonal tiles, allowing up to 6 enemies to occupy adjacent spaces at once, and its floors feature elevation changes. The game features 40 types of weapons, 30 types of shields, and 20 types of clothing, all unidentified, along with 60 types of Japanese-style monsters. The player’s level resets to 1 with each new dive, but items brought back can be used for crafting, upgrades, and village development. Kaguraden is planned for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam) in 2027.
