About 9.8 million players worldwide have put 100 hours or more into ELDEN RING, according to an estimate the market research firm Alinea Analytics published in October. By AUTOMATON’s calculation, that is about 27% of Alinea’s estimate of roughly 36.4 million copies sold. FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment have not released these figures. The game runs on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2, and supports English audio.

The estimate comes from Alinea’s head of market analysis, Rhys Elliott, who cited the figure in an analysis of how past Game of the Year winners have sold. Alinea puts the lifetime sales split at 50% Steam, 35% PlayStation 5, and 15% Xbox.

According to the Steam achievement data cited by AUTOMATON, about 75% of players reached Roundtable Hold and about 71% beat Margit, the Fell Omen. After that, the share drops sharply. About 36% defeated Malenia, Blade of Miquella, and about 30% defeated Dragonlord Placidusax. For the ending achievements, Age of the Stars sits at about 28%, Elden Lord at about 24%, and Lord of Frenzied Flame at about 16%.

Alinea estimates that about 3.5 million players have earned every achievement or trophy. By its figures, the share of players who did so is 10.9% on PlayStation, 10.5% on Steam, and 3.9% on Xbox.

ELDEN RING launched in February 2022. Alinea estimates that about 2 million copies have sold so far in 2026. AUTOMATON reports that about 1.5 million people played it on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in September 2026. Of those, about 4% also played DARK SOULS III that month, about 4% played Bloodborne, and about 3% played Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Alinea expects ELDEN RING to keep selling for many more years.

Alinea’s estimate of about 2 million copies sold so far in 2026 suggests new players are still picking the game up more than four years after launch.
