A season of endless rain that kills anyone it touches is about to begin. In Rev. NOiR, an all-new RPG from Konami Digital Entertainment, you set out to defeat the monstrous beings that bring that rain down.
Combat is action-based. As you travel, you rework how you fight using powers inherited from the people you meet.
Rev. NOiR is due in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam). It is single-player, with English text and full voice acting in both English and Japanese.
Lightfall, falling from the sky
In this world, the Determinant has floated in the sky since ancient times. It has given people astral ordinances and brought them peace. The astral ordinance that guides the protagonist, Asch, tells him to save many people.
Now, calamity returns: Lightfall, a rain of light that takes the life of anyone it touches.
Lightfall is brought down by monstrous beings called provitons. Asch sets out with Finé on a journey to defeat the provitons and stop the calamity.

Dodge, counter, pull through
The official description calls the combat an action battle system where your choices and judgment change the way you fight. On offense, you have normal attacks and a second attack type. On defense, dodging an enemy attack at the last possible moment lets you go straight into a counter.
You also have the Astral Sigils, a set of support actions that can tip a fight your way or get you out of a pinch. The footage released so far shows several sigils by name, but what each one does has not been explained yet.
The footage also shows katana-style, spear-style and gun-style weapons. Konami has not said whether that is the full set.
Kardieoses, inherited on the road
You inherit Kardieoses from people you meet on your journey, and they give you new abilities. According to the official description, you can customize your fighting style by combining equipment, Astral Sigils and Kardieoses.
Since Kardieoses come from the people you meet, your abilities—and the range of ways you can combine them with your equipment and Astral Sigils—look set to grow as the journey goes on.
Four travelers out to stop the rain
Asch is a quiet young man. He meets Finé in a village left in ruins, and that meeting leads him to join her journey to stop Lightfall.
Finé is a young cleric and a wielder of the Rainbow Astria, the art that stops Lightfall. She tries to fulfill her duties as the “Saint,” even as she longs deeply for the outside world she has never seen.
Before meeting Asch, Finé had already been traveling with Diana. Diana, a member of the Holy Capital Garrison’s Astrian Order, serves as Finé’s bodyguard. Kross, a gunner with the Lysrian City Guards, joins the journey as the group’s guide on orders from the Guards’ leader.
These are the four characters Konami has named. It has not yet been announced how they divide roles in battle or whether all four are playable.
A former SQUARE ENIX producer, and ILCA in the credits
Rev. NOiR was first revealed during the February 2026 State of Play, alongside a teaser trailer and teaser site. The September State of Play brought a story trailer, combat gameplay footage and the 2027 release window.
The game’s producer, now at Konami Digital Entertainment, produced the Gunslinger Stratos series and another project while at SQUARE ENIX. The producer has described Rev. NOiR as a game made with passion by a team that has long loved JRPGs, and has said it lets players enjoy the thrill of setting out on a new adventure.
In the credits on the official site, the ILCA logo sits alongside the KONAMI and Unreal Engine logos.
There is no official word yet on ILCA’s role in development.
