Melee weapons in SILENT HILL: Townfall wear down with every swing. Taking out a single creature can cost 50–60% of a weapon’s durability, and swinging at everything in reach leaves it unusable in no time.
Durability also drops from guarding, not only from attacking. A successful guard generally prevents damage. Meeting a creature head-on comes down to guarding once and then moving into a counterattack.
A surprise strike from behind, on the other hand, takes a creature down in one go, so closing in unnoticed spares both the weapon and your health. The “CRTV,” which shows enemy positions through obstacles, lets you pick a route before anything spots you. You can switch among melee attacks, guarding, and the gun as the situation demands, or skip fights entirely.

For the first time in the main series, some sections put players in control of a character other than Simon Ordell. Two more are playable: Zoe and Richard. Zoe’s sections emphasize stealth, while Richard’s emphasize combat, showing the same story from another angle.

SILENT HILL: Townfall is set on St. Amelia, a remote island in Scotland. Every playable scene is presented in first person, another first for the main series. Screen Burn, a studio also based in Scotland, developed the game, and Konami Digital Entertainment and Annapurna Interactive are publishing it together.
The game was released simultaneously worldwide on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam / Epic Games Store). The game can be played with English voice acting.
